Overwatch is Celebrating The Year Of The Rat
/ Carlos Hernandez
Overwatch’s next in-game event, the Lunar New Year 2020, is celebrating the Year of the Rat with new cosmetic skins to unlock, weekly challenges, and a new arcade game mode just for the celebration.
To spice things up during the Lunar New Year, Overwatch players can play Capture the Flag Blitz, a new Arcade game mode that puts the flag of each team closer to each other, similar to how overtime matches go in traditional CTF games. Since the distance to capture a flag is closer, the amount of captures to win a match is increased from 3 to 6.
Weekly Challenges return for this year’s Lunar New Year and you can unlock epic skins and other cosmetic items by winning nine games within the week.
Here are the epic skins you can unlock each week:
Week 1: Monk Doomfist
Week 2: Ancient Chinese Bronze Winston
Week 3: Papercutting Wrecking Ball
Four legendary skins will be available during the event but can only be obtained through Overwatch’s loot box system:
Opera Brigitte
Face-Changer Sombra
Mask Dancer Moira
Samul Nori Lucio
Have a look at some of the skins available for the event below. You have from January 16 - February 6 to get all the skins and other cosmetics in the Lunar New Year 2020 event.
