PP Invasion Wins P100,000 at PGDX 2025 Indie Game Stars Awards

PGDX 2025 was filled with events, booths, workshops, and indie games free for all attendees to try at the Indie Game Stars. During this year’s PGDX, they hosted a People’s Choice Award with a whopping P100,000 prize money. The indie game with the most public votes at the end of PGDX’s 3-day showcase will be awarded the prize money, and the game PP Invasion came on top in the end.

Indie Games Stars People’s Choice - PP Invasion

Yes, PP Invasion is not a typo on my part or from indie developer Alex Valdez that created it, and it won people’s attention at the show as he hit the main stage and accepted the award and prize money, who was sponsored by the Sui Foundation, with program support from the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) and SMART.

Indie Game Stars (IGS) is PGDX’s flagship platform dedicated to up-and-coming Filipino indie game developers, providing a stage to exhibit original games, connect with fans, and gain exposure to publishers, investors, and collaborators. It’s a celebration of raw creativity and innovation that lies at the heart of the local game dev community. It’s not just for local talent as developers from other regions in Southeast Asia were present, such as the developers of upcoming indie game Nightmare Circus, Inkonbini, and more.

While PP Invasion was the people’s choice, this year’s indie lineup was a standout as Indie Game Stars this year had a lot of interesting titles that pulled me in for various reasons.

Here are my standout indie picks from the event that are worth keeping an eye out.
