Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 is packed with new trailers and major Game Pass reveals. This event, as the name implies, is Europe’s biggest gaming convention that is open to the public as developers head over to Cologne Germany to share their upcoming games

Below is a running list of the biggest game reveals and announcements from the event. Will add more details for each reveal as it becomes available.

Routine

A first-person survival horror developed by Lunar Software that sports a unique 80s sci-fi tone. It’s releasing on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam.

Road Kings

Road Kings is the next-generation truck driving simulator developed by Saber Interactive. it’s what you’d expect from a game like this as you’ll take on various jobs requiring you to transport different cargo under various routes, terrain, and weather conditions. It’s set to launch sometime in 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

PVKK

PVKK, which is officially called PVKK: Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant (i’m not kidding), is a game where you defend allies from interplanetary invasion by managing defenses through a bunker by navigating a control panel that slowly gets complex as you progress through the game.

Sword of Legends

Sword of Legends is yet anouther action RPG game set in a Chinese myth and is being developed by the studio Aurogon Shanghai. It’s set to release on PC and consoles.

Absolum

A new look at Absolum, a roguelike beat ‘em up from the developer Dotemu. It’s set to release on October 9 on PS5, PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam.

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction

A beat ‘em up set in the He-Man universe that brings back not only the classes SNES feel but also the style of the 80s animated series.

Outlaws + Handful of Missions Remaster

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes

Battlestar Galactica fans are going to love that a new strategy game is in the works. It was a short tease and what we know is it’s based on the reboot of the sci-fi show. It’s set to release sometime in 2026.

Denshattack

Slick art style and animation is what I noticed the moment I watched Denshattack, a game that mixes Tony Hawk Pro Skater…and a train car? Very unusual, but looks fun either way. It’s set to release in Spring 2026.

Valor Mortis

Developer One More Level (Ghostrunner) revealed it’s new project called Valor Mortis, a first-person action game where you battle monstrosities with firearms or melee weapons during the Napoleonic Wars.

Bubsy 4D

Bibsy 4D is a new game currently in development at indie studio Fabraz. It’s set to release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. No release date or window was mentioned.

Sonic Racing Crossworlds Collab

Bandai and Sega are teaming up as they are collaborating to bring Pac-Man to the upcoming Sonic Racing CrossWorlds game and Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac. Sega also took this time to remind people that an open network test for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds is happeing from August 29 to September 1.

Hollow Knight Silksong Tease

Developer Team Cherry has broke the Silksong silence by not only showing new gameplay of Hollow Knight: Silksong but to reveal that the game will release in 2025. A special announcement from the developers is happening on August 21, likely to share more about the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Gameplay Reveal

Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 gives us our first look at Call of Duty Black Ops 7 gameplay and it’s campaign is a mind twis that feels like the developers can create whatever they want, and it shows as the environment and encounters you face isn’t your typical Call of Duty sortie one bit. But what was shown at the show was a mix of all three main game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies.

The campaign can be tackled solo or with co-op.

Lords of the Fallen 2

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Anime

A good amount of From Software fans that aren’t in the know likely peed a little when they saw Sekiro: No Defeat. but it’s an anime series set to launch in Crunchyroll sometime next year. not a new game. Still a win considering their new IP entering different medium makes a new game entry within the realm of possibility for the busy Japanese studio.

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Lego Batman is making its return and focuses on the rise of the Dark Knight and it feels it’s taking nods to Christopher Nolan’s take on the Caped Crusader. It’s set to come out on console and PC in 2026.

Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War 4

RTS is a rare breed these days but it’s good to see Warhammer 40K Dawn of War 4 is happening as this new entry is set 200 years after the events of Dawn of War 3. Little is known about the game but it’s confirmed to launch in 2026 with over 70 missions.

Monster Hunter Wilds X Final Fantasy XIV collaboration

Square Enix and Capcom are doing yet another collaboration, mixing Monster Hunter Wilds and Final Fantasy XIV. For Wilds, hunters will get to ride Chocobos in their hunts in September, while MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV players will get a Monster Hunter event in early October.

This isn’t the first collaboration between franchises, as we’ve hunted Final Fantasy monsters in Monster Hunter and earned unique mount rewards for Final Fantasy XIV.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword new trailer

Yet another detailed look of Onimusha: Way of the Sword from Capcom as we see new monster encounters and stylish gameplay that would make fans of the series excited for its release sometime in 2026.

Arknights: Endfield

Arknights: Endfield is a game that fans have been waiting for with no release date in sight. The new trailer doesn’t fix that as it felt more of a reminder that it’s still coming.

Daemon X machina: Titanic Scion

Action game Daemon X machina: Titanic Scion got a new trailer showcasing the game’s impressive mech combat. Demo is out today for those curious as the game launches in September.

Europa Universalis V

More love for strategy fans as the Europa Universalis series is finally getting a new entry after a decade. Europa Universalis V is coming and the teaser trailer doesn’t give much but confirms its existence.

Fallout Season 2 TV Series Trailer

Bethesda and Amazon took the opportunity to show off the latest trailer for season 2 of the Fallout tv series, which is set to release on December 17.

Indiana Jones and the Order of the Giants DLC trailer

A new Indiana Jones and the Great Circle trailer was shown showcasing the game’s upcoming DLC. But more importantly it confirms that the globe trotting adventure game is heading to the Nintendo Switch in 2026.
