Hogger is a bruiser that excels in bringing a decent amount of area damage, making him a solid choice to deal with heroes that tends to stack together during clashes.

Here’s a brief description on his toolkit from Blizzard.

Cooldown: 70 seconds.

Shockwave [R2]

After 0.5 seconds, Hogger slams the ground, sending a shockwave traveling in a long line. Enemies hit by the initial slam take 306 damage and are stunned for 1.25 seconds while those hit by the shockwave take 210 damage and are stunned for 0.5 seconds.

Cooldown: 60 seconds.

Hogger is known as one of the first big baddies you will face when you enter Classic World of Warcraft, and was later brought back as a boss in the Cataclysm expansion in Stormwind Stockade.

The release of Hogger has come as a good surprise as the devs at Blizzard focused on HotS is still churning out content for their community despite Blizzard pulling the plug on HotS esports back in 2018.

This doesn’t mean esports is dead for HotS, it’s just no longer being supported by the developer and publisher that made the game. Esports companies will have to make an extra effort in bringing competitive HotS back into the spotlight and it looks like one group is interested in the challenge.

In a report by InvenGlobal, HeroesHearth, whose parent company is Wisdom Gaming Group, are putting together a Heroes of the Storm league in the North America region. If you check out HeroesHearth’s Youtube channel, you can find various video focused on the MOBA, with competitive matches casted by known individuals in the community.

Heroes of the Storm launched in 2015 as a free-to-play title from Blizzard and is their take on the MOBA genre with a roster featuring iconic characters across Blizzard’s games from StarCraft, World of Warcraft, to Diablo.
