Update 46 Hits ESO Consoles June 18, New Trailer Revealed During Xbox Games Showcase 2025

During the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda unveiled a new trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online, showcasing the many ways players can experience the MMORPG. The trailer follows a character adventuring through the game’s newest zone alongside his cat companion. More importantly, it highlights that the console version will soon catch up to PC, with Update 46 bringing the highly anticipated subclassing system to the base game.

Update 46 and Season of the Worm Cult Arrive on Consoles June 18

This update is a big one for all players, as it adds a long-requested subclassing system that allows any character to unlock and mix skills from other classes, provided they meet the requirements. The result is more freedom and customization in your builds as you explore the world of Tamriel.

Alongside the new system, Update 46 also brings the Season of the Worm Cult DLC. This expansion includes a brand-new zone called Solstice and, for the first time, continues the base game’s main storyline, making it a significant addition for longtime players.

The new trailer also teases the major in-game event coming this October called The Writhing Wall. In it, players will face the challenge of dealing with the magical barrier called The Writhing Wall that has split the new zone in two. As expected, this one-time event is exclusive to players who own the new DLC.

This is just one of many announcements revealed during the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase. If you’re still catching up, we’ve got you covered with a full recap of the biggest reveals from the event.
