Persona 4 Revival Announced – What We Know So Far
/During the 2025 Xbox Games Showcase, Sega and Atlus officially revealed Persona 4 Revival, a remake of the beloved JRPG that released back in 2008. The game is coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
The teaser trailer is brief, but you can check it out below.
Following the reveal, P-Studio Director Kazuhisa Wada shared a short message about Persona 4 Revival:
Hello, this is Wada from P-Studio.
We are very pleased to announce the release of Persona 4 Revival. We look forward to sharing even more information in due time.
Persona 4 has spawned numerous spin-off works, including TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. and is a special title that has been a part of Atlus for many years and holds a personal place in my heart.
We are currently working on this project with all our passion and love.
We are confident that this will be a fresh and surprising product for both newcomers and long-time fans and we look forward to sharing it with you all.
Additionally, we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio.
We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world and our work is progressing well.
Please stay tuned for more updates.
We look forward to your continued support of the Persona series.
Towards the end, it’s clear that the studio is also working on the game’s next mainline entry, which has yet to be teased, but this is likely one of the clear indications that a new Persona is being worked on alongside the development of Persona 4 Revival.
Wada’s message makes it clear that Persona 4 Revival isn't the only thing in development, as P-Studio is also actively preparing for the next mainline Persona title. While it hasn’t been officially teased yet, this is a clear indication that a new Persona game is in the works alongside the remake.
That said, the announcement of Persona 4 Revival shouldn’t come as a surprise. The Persona franchise has grown immensely in popularity, especially following the global success of Persona 5. Its strong reception led to an extended edition, multiple spin-offs, and a more prominent global presence for Atlus.
With Persona 3 Reload (a remake of Persona 3) also being well-received, revisiting Persona 4, which is considered the series' most iconic entry, feels like a no-brainer.
No release date or window has been announced yet, but if there’s one thing we’re hoping for, it’s that Persona 4 Revival gets the same stylish presentation and modernized visuals seen in Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload. It would be a missed opportunity not to bring that same energy and flair to one of the most cherished titles in the series as the concept still stands out toady.
