Despite the game’s rocky launch, CD Projekt Red has announced in a post-earnings call that Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 13.7 million copies through the end of 2020. The number is a company estimate based on the information provided by distributors.

Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t come close to having a successful launch thanks to how they handled the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game, but despite it’s many issues, it was able to sell rather well when it was released in December of 2020.
CD Projekt Red also announced (thanks gameindustry.biz) that 30,000 refunds were processed by the company itself since launch, which is a tiny fraction if you compare it’s 2020 sales. Take note that the reported refund numbers does not include refunds processed by retailers and other platforms like Microsoft.
The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 was so terrible that Sony had to pull the game from it’s PlayStation Store and has not been back on the store ever since. The difference between the PC version and the console versions are pretty substantial that I had to separate my review of the game covering the PC version and the PS4 version. Put all the issues aside, and what you have is an okay open world RPG brimming with potential and filled with missed opportunities.
CD Projekt Red is still hard at work in fixing the many bugs that plague Cyberpunk 2077 as they’ve recently released a lengthy 1.2 patch that fixes a variety of issues.
