Street Fighter 6 Year 4 Has Begun, Filipina Yasmine Now Available
Capcom just updated Street Fighter 6 with its newest playable character named Yasmine, the first Filipino martial artist to join the Street Fighter franchise. Her arrival starts Year 4 of content planned for the game, with three more DLC characters planned for release for the rest of 2026 and during the first half of 2027.
The addition of Yasmine comes with a few new additions to the game, such as more content added to the game's Avatar Arcade and Battle Tour modes, plus other features like the ability to turn on and off the frame meter in the training menu.
The game was also updated with new Master ACT reward colors, giving those who love climbing ranked play new color palettes to chase for their preferred characters. On top of this, the game was given a series of balance changes that hopefully shifts the meta for the game overall, with older characters given some tweaks, like how Mai was gutted with a series of nerfs, though she does feel just as strong, probably just not as dominant as before. Time will tell.
Way of the Oni x Way of the Fist Event
Street Fighter 6 also features a Way of the Oni x Way of the Fist limited event that starts on August 7 to August 31, 2026. It's a collaboration with Capcom's Onimusha series that allows players who log in to receive special colors for select characters. The Battle Hub's looks will be changed to an Onimusha-inspired aesthetic during the time of the event.
Celebrating Yasmine’s launch
Capcom is celebrating the Filipina Yasmine in the best way possible by hosting an event in the Philippines happening on August 9 at the Salud! by Primera Bar & Restaurant in Makati city, Philippines. The event will consist of a local tournament with invite-only participants (mostly content creators), some giveaway opportunities, and play sessions to celebrate the launch of the new character. The local tournament matches will be featured online through Enduins Youtube channel, as well as Capcom Asia’s official Youtube channel.
Three more characters are planned to be released in Year 4: new character Arjun, Final Fantasy VII's Tifa, and Bosch from the game's World Tour mode.
