Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault 1.0 launches on September 2

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault is leaving Early Access and is set to fully launch on September 2 for PC and consoles.

Moonlighter 2 has a fun concept where you play as a shopkeeper who spends his nights dungeon crawling, then opens his shop during the day to sell the spoils from his latest adventure. It features a roguelite gameplay loop where you choose a biome and complete a series of levels, upgrading your abilities along the way to become strong enough to defeat the boss waiting at the end of each run.

I had a great time with its Early Access version and purposely stopped playing because I wanted to experience the game in its complete form. Since entering Early Access, the game has received two major content updates. Greed and Glory introduced the HEX combat path, the Bio-Blitz dual guns, and the wave-based Greed Colosseum. The second update, Blob-Life Balance, added Bloblet shop companions, a stackable Poison Path, new weapons, and a Hard difficulty mode.

What is in Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault 1.0?

The 1.0 update completes the game's main story. The Early Access version already featured a substantial amount of content, and version 1.0 rounds out the experience by concluding the story while allowing players to unlock the shop's final upgrades.

Players will also gain access to a new post-game challenge: an ever-escalating gauntlet of gold-filled runs designed to test their limits. There will also be a Hardcore mode for those seeking an extra challenge, where dying sends you back to the very beginning of the game.

Moonlighter Free for a limited time

To celebrate the announcement of the game’s release date, 11 Bit Studios will be giving away the first game Moonlighter for free from now until August 9.

With the release date now confirmed, pre-orders for Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault are now live for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be available on Game Pass. You can try the game’s demo, which is available on all the platforms mentioned above.
