Monster Hunter World: Iceborne's Next Crossover Event Features Resident Evil 2
/ Carlos Hernandez
Capcom continues its franchise crossover treatment for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne by bringing in Resident Evil 2’s Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and weirdly enough Mr. X to the New World.
Just like previous events, new event-themed armor sets, cosmetic content, and unique hunts will be available and went live on November 8 and will run until December 5, 2019.
In this event, Capcom sets players to hunt down a Blackveil Vaal Hazak, which is part of a Return of the Bioweapon quest only available to anyone who has reached MR 20 or above. This new version of the monster “releases special sports that require the use of Green and Red Herbs to counter.”, says Capcom.
The hunt will reward players with two new gestures - a zombie shuffle and damage-dealing zombie bite. Also, you are given crafting materials to work on your Full Armour Sets inspired by Resident Evil’s Leon and Claire characters.
For those looking to change up your room’s design, the event will also feature new decorations like the iconic typewriter and item box. Also, as seen in the trailer above at the end, you can turn your character’s Handler character into Mr. X, for comedic effect.
Horizon Zero Dawn event incoming
Capcom is giving PS4 players a little extra this month with the return of a Horizon Zero Dawn event but now aimed at featuring the game’s The Frozen Wilds DLC. The event goes live on November 22 and players will be tasked to fight against Zinorgre, which in return for completing the hunt will reward you with materials to create Aloy’s “Stormslinger Prototype” Light Bowgun.
Capcom has more plans for the Horizon Zero Dawn event and while they didn’t disclose what that will be, you can expect it to go live in December.
