Persona 4 Arena - Learning Chie

Aside from Kanji and Yosuke, Chie is another character that I really want to get good at. Skull Crackers and Dragon Kicks, this spunky carnivore with deadly legs will hopefully bring me some wins online.

Chie was actually the first character that I started to use when I got Persona 4 Arena. With her being my favorite character in the original Persona 4 RPG on the PS2, it would only make sense that I'd choose her first. Chie is a pretty straight forward character to use. She does pretty good damage but still requires a bit of work to pull off a win, especially in an offline environment. I probably don't know what I'm talking about though.

Persona 4 Arena - Learning Kanji

Now while using Yosuke, with his extremely hard play style, is fun and all. Constantly going for mix-ups and performing combos that deal no damage can get tiring.

In this playlist, we go for with the guy that some would say is the complete opposite of the swift and nimble kunai wielding character that is Yosuke Hanamura. And that is the blood-curdling beefcake emperor himself, the main with the steelchair in hand, mister Kanji Tatsumi. With his slow movement, command grabs, and ridiculous damage output, we can't help but get a little cocky when using Kanji online. Along side the powerful Take-Mikazuchi, me and my cousin Bud are not afraid to "wake-up persona grab to ex-chair" our way to victory.

Weekend, what are you playing?

December is finally here and it starts off with a long weekend to boot. Play anything interesting this weekend?

Migoy: I didn't really get to play much on the weekends themselves. Most of my gaming happened on Friday. Tried out my new copy of Devil May Cry 4 that I just bought and I'm liking it. Played a few matches online in Persona 4 Arena. Trying to relearn Chie Satonaka. Those were the only console games I got to play, the only other game I played was on my DS Lite and it's still Super Robot Wars OG Saga: Endless Frontier EXCEED. I think I'm at the final stretch of the game  at 30 hours in. There are too many damn assists.

Quash: Went back to XCOM: Enemy Unknown on my 360. Gold membership was free for the weekend, so that was my chance to try out XCOM's multiplayer. Did a couple of matches and pretty much got what I needed to finally finish up my review of the game. Funny how all my matches were against a team with multiple snipers. After MP, I created a new XCOM campaign and tried to finish the game on classic difficulty again. I can't get enough of that game.

Grip-it Analog Control Stick Covers

One things start getting intense in video games, most people start sweating in the hands and that might make one's thumb slip off the control sticks and cost you the round. That's where Grip-it comes in.

Now I don't get sweaty hands a much (only on occasions) but the thumb sticks on my PS3 controllers have been put through the works. If you caught my "I finally got a PS3" post then you'd know that my first game was Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. What am getting at is the left sticks on both of my controllers have lost the roughness they initially had. with all the hyper combos that me and cousin have been dishing out, the sticks got worn down fairly quickly. Instead of having to buy a new controller or replace the analog stick, getting a pair of Grip-it looked like the easiest solution.

The Grip-it covers are what they are, rubber covers for your analog sticks and they do exactly what the brand says. The rubber material used is pretty soft while doing a pretty good job of increasing the grip between your thumb and the control stick. It's also pretty neat that they can fit on either the PlayStation 3 dual-shock controllers or the Xbox 360 controllers.

I got mine at Game One Gadget for I think around 400php but it does give you two pairs so I'd say it evens out price wise. Here are some pictures of the blue and black Grip-its on both my Ps3 controllers. Long story short, the Grip-it covers are great. As for them giving you "the competitive edge", that's another story.

Recent Buys: Episode 16 - Adam Park is Everywhere

Johnny Yong Bosch (who plays Adam Park, the black power ranger), aside from fighting evil with his Mighty Morphin powers is also an established voice actor and does voices in a lot of shows, movies and video games.

Why am I telling you this? Because he did the motion capture and voice acting of one of the main characters in the new (old) video game that I just bought. That game is Devil May Cry 4. An unplanned purchase to be sure since I initially went to Datablitz to get a $20 PSN card. "For what?" you say? I don't know either. So that didn't happen as I came across a copy of Sonic Generations that went for 750php. While looking through the game racks some more, I found a copy of Devil May Cry 4 which is apparently part of the "PlayStation 3 the Best" series. I thought that was already the purpose of their "Platinum: The Best of Playstation 3" series, oh well.

I chose to get this over Sonic Generations because I did just try out the demo of the upcoming DmC game with "new" Dante and liked it. I've also heard a lot of good things about DMC4 which I did try to play on PC before but for it to run smoothy, I had to bring the settings all the way down to ridiculously low levels. I popped in the game just to try things out and didn't notice that an hour had already passed. You might think that an hour of straight gaming is nothing to write home about but because of a little experiment that I'm doing, I time my gameplay sessions and I usually only get around to 30 mins before stopping and doing whatever it is that I have to do that makes me stop playing. I don't think I've had a really long game session since college so obviously, me hitting an hour of straight gameplay easy is something.

I'm thinking of recording my playthrough of DMC4 but I think I should go and finish the other games that I started like Hitman: Absolution. Oh, and if you didn't notice, Datablitz is using Christmas themed giftbags when you buy stuff from them now which are pretty cool. They even have a tag on em. So if you're planning to give a game to someone this holiday season, you don't need to wrap it.
