Expect A Lot Of Sonic The Hedgehog Announcements in 2020
/ Carlos HernandezThe reaction for the first trailer of the live-action film Sonic the Hedgehog is a clear sign that the game is still adored by millions of fans around the world, which is why Sega has announced a 2020 campaign to show their dedication to the franchise this year.
It’s a promise from Sega that they will announce Sonic news every 20th day of the month in 2020. The company announced this via a press release posted in a Japanese website called PR Times. Now, Sega didn’t go into detail as to what kind of announcements we can expect each month, but it makes sense to see a strong marketing push this year since the live-action movie is coming out in cinemas this February and that the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise will be on it’s 30th anniversary in 2021.
Right now, the first bit of news is this whole Sonic 2020 campaign for January, and the reveal came with some goodies - Sonic art in the form of wallpapers for your PC or phones.
There’s a special page found in the official Sonic website which seems to be a landing page for all the announcements related to the Sonic 2020 initiative.
Will we get a new game? Or is this will be a series of teases to a new entry in the franchise? I guess we’ll find out more of Sega’s plans in February.
