Borderlands 4 Coming to the Switch 2 on October 3
Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford took to social media to announce that their upcoming looter shooter Borderlands 4 is coming to Nintendo Switch on October 3, weeks after its release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
The announcement came via an awkward video, and he initially left out an important detail later clarified in the comments: “There will be a download, even for physical copies.”
This means physical editions on Switch 2 will come as Game Key Cards, a new type of cartridge that doesn’t contain the full game but allows players to download it into their system.
Game Key Cards have been a hot topic since the Switch 2 release, as it feels like a band-aid approach for larger third-party games releasing on the Nintendo platform.
Pitchford made headlines months back, saying that real fans will find a way to spend $80 for Borderlands 4, which obviously triggered many fans of the series and players alike. Thankfully, the looter shooter is launching at $70 for its standard edition, $130 for its Super Deluxe Edition, and $150 Collector’s Edition, which doesn’t include the game itself.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a technical wonder on Nintendo Switch 2. It single-handedly raised the bar on what I thought could be possible on the system, delivering a beautifully realized, engaging, and lengthy quest in the most accessible format yet without sacrificing much on the presentation side.
