Here's Our First Look At Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Zombies
/ Carlos HernandezTreyarch and Activision debuted our first look at Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War’s Zombies mode and it’s packed with a new story lead by a new batch of characters.
Everything we know about Call of Duty Zombies makes a return as this 1980s zombie invasion will feature a story set in Die Maschine, a fortified bunker that will look similar to Nacht der Untoten, which was the original Zombies map that debuted in Call of Duty: World at War. In Die Maschine, you will play one of the members of a CIA-backed group called Requiem and will be equipped with various Perks, and utilize Pack-a-Punch machines, and the mystery box to fend off waves of zombies to either complete the easter egg or see how long you can last with your group.
In Black Ops Cold War Zombies, Cross-Play and Cross-Gen will be available, making you group up with any player, regardless of your platform of choice, marking it the first time Zombies to have such a feature available.
Your time on Zombies will also contribute to the seasonal Battle Pass for Cold War, similar to how it works in Multiplayer and Warzone. Your Gunsmith creations can also be brought to Zombies if you are attached to a certain loadout.
Added to Zombies is weapon rarity as all the weapons will have an associated rarity in them. Naturally, the higher the rarity, the stronger the weapon. Treyarch also added Field Upgrades to the game mode, a deployable ability that slowly becomes available by killing zombies. They didn’t specify the types of Field Upgrades that will be available but expect offensive buffs or support abilities that are meant to help the group.
