Here are the titles confirmed to leave PC Game Pass before the end of August 2025. Make sure to wrap them up before they disappear from the service as while there’s only a handful of games leaving by the end of the month, a couple of them are absolute must-plays that I recommend sampling before they leave the service on September 1, 2025.

Sea of Stars is a fantastic RPG that is greatly inspired by classic turn-based RPGs and features a retro overhead visual style and a reactive combat system that, in some ways, is similar to Clair Obscure: Expedition 33. If you love classic RPGs, this is a modern title that breathes the essence of what makes RPGs in the 90s so fantastic. I doubt you’ll be able to finish the game before it leaves PC Game Pass, but at the very least, take it for a spin and see if it’s worth purchasing for you.
Another great title is This War of Mine: Final Cut, a survivor game that focuses on the experiences of normal people with different lives, helping each other to withstand the horrors of war. The original game was released back in 2014, but it still hits hard and aged well, especially with the added expansions and patches, resulting in a variety of survivor combinations that give so many different challenges and approaches to the game. The stories are heavy, and the need to stay alive is overwhelming.
Can You Still Play After It Leaves?
Once these games leave PC Game Pass, they’re no longer accessible unless you buy them. Subscribers can usually purchase departing titles at a discount of up to 20%. It’s a good chance to keep your favorites in your library, especially if you know you’ve enjoyed them and don’t want your progress to go to waste. That added discount makes the deal much sweeter.
