Xbox Game Pass August 2025: Wave 1 Lineup Revealed

Xbox has unveiled the first wave of PC and Xbox Game Pass titles for August 2025. This batch includes eight new games, with Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage standing out as a major highlight for the first half of the month.

Notable Picks for this Month

Two standout games in this wave are Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage marks a return to the franchise's roots. Ubisoft nailed the classic feel with a tighter, more focused experience. Stealth plays a much larger role here, and the game world is centered around a single major city, offering a more contained and immersive environment—reminiscent of the earlier titles in the series.

Meanwhile, Aliens: Fireteam Elite delivers solid online co-op action. If you’re a fan of Left 4 Dead-style shooters, this one's a no-brainer, as only now you’re mowing down hordes of Xenomorphs. The campaign is engaging and especially fun with friends, and its progression system gives players a strong reason to keep coming back.

Games Leaving Game Pass on August 15

As games are added, others leave. For the first half of this month, only three are set to leave Xbox Game Pass on August 15:

  • Anthem (Console and PC) EA Play

  • Farming Simulator 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC)

  • Persona 3 Reload (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Persona 3 Reload is a big loss for subscribers, and Anthem is understandable considering that BioWare and EA will be finally turning off the game’s servers next year.
