E3 2018: Square Enix Showcase Recap

Square Enix this year only went for a video showcase this year to present upcoming titles from the company. Shadow of the Tomb Raider leads the charge followed by a few reveals such as Platinum Games' next title. 

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

A more detailed look at combat, plus a small cinematic tease showing the start of the game. It's out on September 14 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. 

Final Fantasy XIV Online

Square Enix highlights the latest patch to their MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. Then, they talk to Capcom to bring over a Rathalos from Monster Hunter World to their world. The Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy Online crossover is expected to launch this summer.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

Another look at Dontnod's free title that's set in the Life is Strange universe. More details coming from the developers during the showcase. It's out for free on June 26.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Dragon Quest XI is coming to the west on September 4 for PS4 and PC. A new trailer was shown and highlights this Dragon Quest to have voiced characters, which is a first for the series. 

Babylon's Fall Announced

Platinum games, known for Bayonetta and Nier: Automata, has revealed their next project but there's not much information about it aside from the trailer above. The trailer focuses on a historical timeline before we see a battle between two beings. It will be out on PS4 and PC next year.

Nier Automata: Become As Gods Edition

Revealed during Microsoft's media briefing, Nier: Automata is coming to Xbox One will all their post DLC content on June 26.
 

Octopath Traveler

We are given another look at Octopath before it's release next month, July 13, on the Nintendo Switch.

Just Cause 4

More details were given about Rico Rodriguez's next adventure. As if destruction in this game wasn't enough, the 4th game will feature extreme weather - from desert storms to tornados. They also mentioned new improvements to Rico's grappling hook, giving more creative destruction to the players. 

The Quiet Man Announced

A new game was  revealed but there's not much info about it so far. The trailer hints that the leading man is deaf, and a tagline pops up “silence rings loudest.”. It's coming the PS4 and PC and they mentioned more details to come in August. The transition from live-action to gameplay just adds more questions to this mysterious game.

Kingdom Hearts 3

Square Enix ends the presentation with Kingdom Hearts 3, with the trailer first shown during Microsoft's E3 conference. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be out on January 29, 2019 on PS4 and Xbox One.
