Launch trailer for Mass Effect 3's Omega DLC

Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC screenshot Mass Effect 3's latest DLC called "Omega" and is all about Shepard helping Aria retake Omega from Cerebrus. This 4 hour content will not only have Aria in your squad for this mission, you will also have the first ever female turian ever seen in the Mass Effect universe.

You're third squad member is Nyreen, the turian leader of the Talon mercenary group, is a biotic and assists Shepard and Aria retake the space station.

That epic music got me all hyped. It made me think of getting the DLC, but then I realized the $15 (1200 MS points) price tag. Is the price worth the 4 hour content? Depends on how you reacted to the game's controversial ending I guess.

Mass Effect 3's Omega DLC will be available on November 27 in the US (possibly tom for PH)

Bioshock: Infinite will have no multiplayer, says Ken Levine

Bioshock-Infinite-screenshot01.jpg

Bioshock Infinite Screenshot Can't wait to see Bioshock: Infinite's multiplayer? Don't hold your breath. It is now confirmed that Bioshock: Infinite will not have any form of multiplayer.

Ken Levine, co-founder and creative director over at Irrational Games tweeted that there will be no multiplayer when the game ships early next year. With most triple A titles forcing any form of multiplayer in their games to come out more appealing, its great news to hear that the studio is dumping their remaining resources to the game's campaign. Bioshock is one of those game franchises that is better off without one, not every game needs to have a multiplayer component to be successful. They added multiplayer for Bioshock 2, so it was a possibility that we would see multiplayer for Bioshock: Infinite which made me fear for the worse. Ideas for multiplayer modes were in the air but thankfully nothing came to light. Kotaku reported that two multiplayer modes(One even called "Spec-Ops") was originally planned but was soon cancelled. Good riddance.

It has been a trend lately for big titles. Franchises that succeed and earn a sequel usually comes back with multiplayer to have a more appealing title, even though having such mode doesn't make much sense to the game (for example, Dead Space 2). It's good to see some studios still try to stay away from it and focuses on the single player aspect of the game that made it famous to begin with.

Bioshock: Infinite hits shelves on February 23, 2013 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale first DLC characters will be free for the first two weeks of release

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale was just released a few days ago, but SuperBot and Santa Monica Studios are hard at work in bringing the first DLC characters into the game. The first two DLC characters for Sony's crossover fighting game will be Starhawk's Emmett Graves and Gravity Rush's Kat.

Gravity Rush Kat joining Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale

Seth Killian, former Capcom front man for their fighting games and now lead developer at Santa Monica Studios , spilled the beans on the character DLC's at Playstation's official blog a few days before game release. Emmett and Kat are still at their early stages, so no official release of the characters in action just yet. But it's important to point out that these DLC characters will be free for the first two weeks of release. So if you are having a blast with Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale and wish for more characters, keep an eye out. Future announcements about these DLC characters will come to make sure no one misses the window to download it for free.

Player plays Black Ops 2 for 135 hours straight, setting new world record

The addiction of Call of Duty is crazy. Every year we get a new game, and just like clockwork we see millions of gamers ready to buy it. It's great, it's addicting, it's fun, but would you play the game for 7 days straight? Well, one guy did. Australian gamer Okan Kaya played Black Ops 2 for 135 hours straight setting the new Guinness World Record for longest gaming marathon ever recorded. Don't worry, the guy is fine.

Kaya was given breaks between hours though, so it's not completely 135 hours of eyes on the screen. Guinness rules allows players to take 10 minute break each hour, and may choose to stack and save those 10 minutes for longer breaks to the basics like eat or sleep. This is quite an amazing feat, and at the same time a dangerous one. Everybody loves a good gaming marathon every now and then, but to push your whole body for a whole week is pretty risky if you ask me.

But he succeeded with no harm on him so congratulations on setting the new world record Okan Kaya.

Sadly, with a marathon like that, you'd think he would be at least top 10 in global leaderboards. Apparently not. GameInformer posts that he is currently 37 in the global charts, which means there were still 36 players ahead of Kaya. Did they play just as long as Kaya? maybe not, but they definitely played the hell out of that game nonstop.

Recent Buys: Episode 15 - Of Paper Bags and Absolution

Hitman Absolution Open

After seeing Conan O'Brien's "review" of Hitman: Absolution, I caved in and got myself a copy. Having not played any of the older Hitman games, I don't really know what to expect. I am very tight on cash right now so this purchase went through some deliberation which ultimately ended up with me spending 1850php and getting Hitman: Absolution for the PS3. This is an R3 copy and includes a few DLC redeem codes for Sniper Challenge, Agency Gun Pack, High Teck Pack, High Roller Pack, Public Enemy Pack and the Contracts pass code. I have no idea what the contents of these DLC packs are, I was just excited about the game. Contracts looks to be multiplayer related wherein you create custom missions for other players to download and play online.

Off topic, it looks like Datablitz is going green. I was a little surprised when they put my game into a slim white paper bag as opposed to the yellow plastic bag that I am so used to seeing. I don't mind the change but I will miss the small but tough yellow plastic with the print of different consoles on it. I believe I also saw a few Datablitz eco bags while I was there. They probably give them out if you purchase something big or your purchase reaches a certain amount.
