Player plays Black Ops 2 for 135 hours straight, setting new world record

The addiction of Call of Duty is crazy. Every year we get a new game, and just like clockwork we see millions of gamers ready to buy it. It's great, it's addicting, it's fun, but would you play the game for 7 days straight? Well, one guy did. Australian gamer Okan Kaya played Black Ops 2 for 135 hours straight setting the new Guinness World Record for longest gaming marathon ever recorded. Don't worry, the guy is fine.

Kaya was given breaks between hours though, so it's not completely 135 hours of eyes on the screen. Guinness rules allows players to take 10 minute break each hour, and may choose to stack and save those 10 minutes for longer breaks to the basics like eat or sleep. This is quite an amazing feat, and at the same time a dangerous one. Everybody loves a good gaming marathon every now and then, but to push your whole body for a whole week is pretty risky if you ask me.

But he succeeded with no harm on him so congratulations on setting the new world record Okan Kaya.

Sadly, with a marathon like that, you'd think he would be at least top 10 in global leaderboards. Apparently not. GameInformer posts that he is currently 37 in the global charts, which means there were still 36 players ahead of Kaya. Did they play just as long as Kaya? maybe not, but they definitely played the hell out of that game nonstop.

Zombies mode MIA in Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified

Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified When you think Call of Duty: Black Ops, you think Call of Duty plus some zombies to kill. Well, the first Call of Duty title for the PS Vita, Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified, will not have Zombies mode. The reason? For the developers to focus on the game's "core strengths".

These core strengths are of course the game's singleplayer and multiplayer. Activision rep Dan Amrich confirmed that Zombies mode will not be included to prioritize on the game's single player and multiplayer features. "This is the first Call of Duty game on Vita, and it needs to deliver on its core strengths - arguably, multiplayer gaming with twin-stick controls in a portable format," said Amrich.

For me, Black Ops won't be Black Ops without Zombies mode. But even with them stating that zombies has been removed to focus on more important features, they announce that Declassified will include a new mode called Hostiles Mode, which is you defeating waves of enemies.

But it looks like the game's developer, Nihilistic Software, would love to add it into the game. In a report coming from IGN, a Tweet from the developer says that "Only Activision and Sony have the power to greenlight Zombies mode for CoD Vita".

Still worth the buy now that Zombies mode won't make an appearance?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Zombies details emerge, trailer also out

You into zombie slaying? Yea sure you are! Why do you think there's tons of zombie games out now. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes out on November, and just like the first game, it will have its very own zombies mode. Treyarch has finally spilled the beans on the changes to Zombies, plus a trailer featuring one of the three game modes for zombies.

Above is a game mode called Tranzit, a campaign mode that lets you and three friends ride a bus heading to location after location picking up supplies and killing zombies. When reaching each location, you are tasked to hold off the incoming zombie horde until you are allowed to move on to the next area. To travel to the next area, you can go by bus or by foot, and the zombies won't stop coming, so holding the horde off continue even as you go forward.

It's a good change, but just in case you want the traditional horde-like mode seen in the first game, they have that too. Survival mode is all about survival. Building defenses and pretty much see how long you guys can last.  No word yet on the changes done, but its good to know they didn't scrap the old for the new.

Were not done yet, there's still one more mode to be introduced, and this one is a bit more in the competitive side. The last mode is called Grief. It's a 4 versus 4 match where you try to outlive your competition. You can't kill each other the conventional way, what you can do though is make the zombies do the killing for you. Of course, they haven't went into much detail on how you get to do that. I can already imagine hilarious moments coming out of Grief mode.

Looks like Treyarch put a lot of thought into Zombies this time around. Three game modes for zombies? Sounds good to me.

I have pretty high expectations for Black Ops 2. I bought the first game mainly because of Zombies, but to my surprise it turned out to be one of the best Call of Duty games I've ever played. I Was not feeling the whole futuristic setting for the sequel, but the changes in Zombies got me back into the hype. Oh and multiplayer?  Been there, done that.
