Weekend, what are you playing?

Sadle up! It's time for the weekend post!

Migoy: Finally got to try out Marvel vs. Capcom 3. A friend of mine just bought a 2nd hand copy of it today and oh man, what fun that game is, plus it looks gorgeous in HD, everything is so smooth and crisp while keeping a constant 60fps. Since I was out, all I had with me was my PSP. Still playing Gundam Memories on it. I've done 71% of the missions but I'm sure I've still got a ways to go before completing the game. For my Sunday, I'm gonna try to finish up a model kit I've been putting off for more than a month now but I've got some games I want to try out such as Eternal Darkness for the GameCube and Robot Alchemic Drive for the PS2.

Quash: Going back old school!! playing Xenogears every chance i get. It's a great game. One of my personal favorites back in the PSone days.  This is Squaresoft at it's best besides their famous Final Fantasy franchise. I'm currently 10 hours in, and it's addicting as ever. It had an amazing gameplay, and if I remember correctly, the story was pretty solid too. Aside from Xenogears, I've been playing around with the games i bought in PSN. So far, everything is worth every buck except one. We had 10 bucks left, and we decided on Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime. In short, not worth 10 bucks.

Nightmare House 2

I had never heard of this game/mod until a little while ago on a youtube video. From that small youtube clip, I got freaked out. Now, watching people play a horror game for the most part isn't scary at all but if a game can instill a sense of fear in me from just watching someone play, it deserves some attention.

Nightmare House 2 is a free, horror-themed first-person-shooter game, and the direct successor of the first classic horror map pack "Nightmare House". Nightmare House 2 is based on the Source Engine by Valve, also considered a modification (mod) made for Half Life: Episode 2.

The story resumes with the player lost and confused in a hospital known as "Never Lose Hope". With no understanding of how you came to be there, there's only a vague memory of the mysterious, haunting girl from Nightmare House. Soon it will be difficult to determine between a dream and reality. How long will it take you to realize that escape is not an option?

All Nightmare House related content is free of charge, and is available in this section. Each of the playable downloads includes a readme.txt inside, with instructions about installing the game properly.

Nightmare House 2 is available for download, and requires Half Life 2: Episode 2 with a registered Steam client to run it. If you run into any trouble, or mind to share your experience in general, hit the our official forums.

The game is free to do download on their site. I'll try it the moment I get off from work and try to broadcast it if my laptop can hadle it.

A little info about id Software's RAGE

I can't wait for this game. This game has been in my 'to buy list' since the first gameplay footage was shown. This is old school FPS at it's best. It's not a trailer, but more like a six part  behind-the-scene series of the game. With these videos, the hype for this game just gets bigger and bigger.

id Software, if you guy's don't know, are the makers of Wolfenstein, Doom, and Quake. Pretty much the founders of the FPS genre. This is the first video of the six part series, giving us a brief history on id Software and what they are trying to Achieve with RAGE.

The Dawn developer diary gives us an idea of the story in Rage. This instantly popped in my head when they explained how the game starts, Fallout 3.The way the game starts out, the factions included in the game, everything feels similar to Fallout 3. But don't get me wrong, it's definitely a great start to introduce players to a new world they have never been experienced.

They talk about your role in the game, and as you progress you slowly get a bigger picture on your characters part in the story.

Graphics are amazing. This is the first time id Software will be using their new tech engine id Tech 5. They have been working on this game and this tech for years. First glance of the game was first seen in 2007. So yea, that's a lot of years of development to peek anybody's interest. The next game to use id Tech 5 is Prey 2, but that's set to be released till next year.

This is the latest video released just today. This may seem like a Fallout game, but it's not. As said in the video 'Arsenal', there is currency but not in an RPG aspect. There are vehicle combat included, but like what the video has mentioned, they want the focus to be mostly on the FPS experience. Weapons are important in any FPS game, and with this kind of game, the different guns you acquired as you progress is what makes you go forward. Arsenal explains the weapons in RAGE, showing off the unique guns and equipment you can use to take down any baddie.

If you want to see more gameplay footage, click the link now to see past gameplay trailers of RAGE. There are three more developer diaries to be revealed. I'll be updating this post when id Software reveals the latest developer diary.

RAGE has a new release date, pushed back a bit, it will now be released on October 4 for NA, and October 7 for EU on PC, Playstation, and Xbox 360.

Weekend, what are you playing?

Ah finally, the weekend is here. You know the drill. What are you playing?

Migoy: I've been blowing up some stuff in Gundam Memories on my PSP. I thought I was close to being done with that game until I saw the game completion percentage so I still need to spend some more time with that. I've also starter Bully on the PS2. I have never played Bully before but I heard it's one of the best Rockstar games out there. People often list it with Red Dead Redemption and GTA San Andreas. I'm having fun with it so far though I am still very early in the game. I'll most likely be broadcasting it on our live channel so check in and see if I'm on the feed.

Quash: Just got back from a road trip to Baguio City so my gaming this weekend was pretty low. My friend brought his 3DS so gaming was still present even on a road trip. Played his game file of Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, which by the way looks amazing on the 3DS. The 3Ds is an amazing handheld. The 3D in the device is actually top notch, but with it, it lessened my game time since the 3D got my eyes tired. It's the first time i tried the 3D feature so my eyes wasn't used to it. I also played some Excite Bike 3D on the 3DS, Still an addicting game.

Arlie: Sorry for the late update, I haven't played that much video games this week. I just redeemed my free PS3 games from PSN Japan when their Store was back up the other day. I got Echochrome and Hustler King (Hustle Kings in US) from the Japanese PlayStation Store for free. I am working on a not-so-secret project for TMG, that involves geekery and dorkness.
