Ubisoft's Pirate Game Skull & Bones Delayed Again, Coming 2022

If you’re eager to see Ubisoft’s new pirate game IP Skull & Bones, you’ll have to wait a bit longer as it’s been delayed yet again as it is now releasing sometime in 2022-2023.
The latest delay was revealed during Ubisoft’s earnings report for 2020-2021, giving Skull & Bones it’s fourth delay since it was revealed to the public way back in 2017 at E3 that year. The game was originally planned to release in 2018, but then delayed to 2019, then 2020, and so on. It was given a release window but never an exact date.
Development is still ongoing as delays are due to “a new vision”, according to a September 2020 developer update on the game. It’s not dead, it’s just being tossed around a lot for years, so it’s likely we’ll see a reintroduction to Skull & Bones with the new direction in place.
Skull & Bones is a rather simple concept as it gets you to live your life as a pirate captain, with naval gameplay similar to what you see in some Assassin’s Creed titles. It was a gamerevealed during the time when many were on a high for naval combat thanks to games like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. In case you need a refresher, here’s some gameplay footage of the game back in E3 2018.
The earnings report also confirmed that Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Quarantine, Riders Republic, The Division Heartland and Roller Champions are still set for release this year.
