Path of Exile 2 leaves Early Access on December 11
During Gamescom 2026’s Opening Night Live event, Grinding Gear Games revealed that action RPG Path of Exile 2 will leave Early Access and launch its 1.0 version on December 11, 2026. The announcement also comes with the reveal of the Duelist class, which will be coming to the game.
Path of Exile 2 1.0 Release Adds Duelist and Full Campaign
When Path of Exile 2’s 1.0 version launches in December, it will be free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store. New and existing players can register for the game’s mailing list for updates, with milestone rewards being offered based on the number of players who sign up.
Path of Exile 2 is one of the most complex action RPGs out there, featuring twelve character classes paired to one of the most intimidating passive skill trees created in the genre. This is further complemented by a gem system featuring over 240 skill gems and 700 equipment base types, giving players a huge number of possible build combinations based on their chosen class and playstyle.
The 1.0 release also means the completion of the game’s lengthy campaign, which consists of six acts (Acts 4-6 added in full release). Once players complete the campaign, the real game begins, as Path of Exile 2 will feature a new endgame with 100 endgame maps, each featuring its own boss encounters. Grinding Gear Games plans to share more details about the endgame as we get closer to the full release.
