Everspace 2’s Final Technical Update Makes it Steam Deck Verified

EVERSPACE 2 final technical update Steam Deck Verified.

Rockfish Games has released the final technical update for its space action RPG Everspace 2, which not only improves the game’s performance across different platforms but also makes the game Steam Deck verified.

This final update brings over improvements the studio worked on while developing the game for Nintendo Switch 2. These include general performance optimizations, bug fixes, quality-of-life improvements, and minor new features. The developers also announced that the game’s performance on Xbox Series S has been improved thanks to the update.

New Everspace Game Coming

What’s interesting about this update is that despite being the final update for a game that has been in development for eight years, it looks like Rockfish Games isn’t done with the Everspace series just yet. The studio says it is “fully focused on the future of the Everspace series”, hinting that a new project is in the works and they plan to share more when the time is right.

Rockfish previously revealed that it received an eight million euro grant for their next project from the German government. While they haven’t officially announced what their next project will be, it is confirmed that it will be a new game within the Everspace franchise.

Everspace 2 is available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
