The Division: Heartland Announced And Is A Free-to-Play Game
/ Carlos HernandezUbisoft has announced The Division: Heartland, a spin-off free-to-play title and a few other projects, showing their commitment to the franchise will go beyond The Division 2.
In Ubisoft’s announcement post, they breakdown the future of The Division franchise starting with The Division: Heartland that’s expected to come out sometime between 2021-2022 and is being worked on by the studio Red Storm. Details are slim at the moment but Ubisoft says “Heartland is a standalone game that doesn’t require previous experience with the series but will provide an all new perspective on the universe in a new setting.”. Those eager to try it out as soon as possible can register now to be one of the first group of people to try out Heartland when it finally comes out. The Division: Heartland will be available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC.
But that’s not all as Ubisoft also announced a The Division mobile game but didn’t mention any other detail aside from it existing. They also mentioned a Netflix film for the series as well as a novel. The Division 2, the latest game for the franchise, is also getting more content in 2021. All in all, Ubisoft is setting up to expand the world of The Division to various platforms and media.
Ubisoft supporting their franchises is nothing new for the company but this announcement shows their confidence of what The Division can be for them in the future.
