Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta Happening This October, Four New Characters Also Revealed

During Capcom’s Tokyo game Show broadcast, Capcom announced that there will be a closed beta for their upcoming fighting game Street Fighter 6. The beta will be available from October 7 to October 10 and will featuring cross-play between PlayStation5 , Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam).

The Closed beta will have Ranked Match, Casual Match, Battle Hub, Open Tournament, Extreme Battle, Game Center, and Training Mode. The beta will also feature 8 playable characters; Luke, Chun-Li, Kimberly, Guile, Jamie, Ryu, Ken, and Juri.

Capcom also revealed four new characters - Ken, Blanka, E. Honda, Dhalsim.

The broadcast also shared more details on the game’s open world called World Tour as players can customize their very own fighter that can roam the streets of Metro City with Luke acting as the coach with the new recruits entering the city. Customization seems pretty broad as you can edit almost all parts of your avatar’s body as well as customize its fashion from head gear, upper body gear, lower body gear, and more. It isn’t all cosmetics it seems as gear will affect your character’s stats.

There’s progression in World Tour where your created avatar will eventually meet Masters such as Ryu or Chun-li. You’ll eventually get taught their signature moves like a Ryu’s Shoryuken, suggesting your avatar can be a mix bag of iconic Street Fighter moves in World Tour.

Street Fighter 6’s Battle Hub was also detailed as the space is able to host up to 100 players at the same time. The hub also features cabinets to access the game’s multiplayer mode or simply play classic Street Fighter games such as Street Fighter 2 and more.

Street Fighter 6 will be available sometime in 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
