Stellar Blade Sequel Could Launch before 2027

Following the commercial success of Stellar Blade, developer Shift Up has quietly confirmed that a sequel is in development — and it could arrive sooner than expected.

Sequel Could Launch Before 2027

During a recent financial presentation, the Korean studio revealed its development roadmap for the coming years. Among the slides was a clear reference to a Stellar Blade sequel, with a projected release before 2027. Thanks, IGN, for pointing it out.

Before the sequel’s arrival, Shift Up is also planning a “platform expansion,” which likely refers to the previously announced PC version of Stellar Blade. The PC port is scheduled to launch this June on Steam.

With the PC version just weeks away, more details might surface in the future. For now, the developer is likely focused on ironing out any loose ends before the PC launch, especially considering the PC version is currently blocked in 129 countries on Steam.

New IP for Shift Up

Given the game’s positive reception, news of a sequel isn’t surprising, but what did stand out was mention of Project Witches, a mysterious new IP in the pipeline. While details are scarce, this appears to be a new project being developed alongside the Stellar Blade follow-up.

In a recent report, this new IP is a “subculture genre” action RPG with cross-platform features that allow crossplay across mobile, PC, and console. The new project is still in the early stages of development as the company is planning to hire more people this year for its development.

Once the PC version launches, we’ll likely hear more from the developers down the line. Of course, plans can always shift, but for now, it seems their goal is to deliver the sequel before 2027.
