The Wandering Village Launches July 17 on Consoles and PC

The unique city-building game The Wandering Village is set to leave Early Access and officially launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on July 17.

Originally released in Early Access in 2022, the game has since received several major updates, including a Story Mode that introduces lore-driven quests, as well as new biomes—Ocean and Ruins—to add variety and challenge. Hostility modifiers were also added for those seeking tougher survival conditions.

Further improvements during Early Access include a reworked economy and villager management system, an overhauled research tree, and numerous balance changes. The game also expanded with new features like trading, parasites, new buildings, additional resources, and more.

The Wandering Village is a one-of-a-kind city builder where a group of survivors take refuge on the back of a massive wandering creature called an Onbu after toxic spores make life on the ground hazardous. You play as the leader of the settlement, managing your village’s development atop the Onbu while dealing with environmental challenges, shifting climates, and the well-being of both your villagers and the creature itself.

Wandering Village Physical Edition Announced

Wandering Village will get a physical release thanks to the publisher Serenity Forge.

The game will not only get a standard copy on PS5 and the Switch, but will also have a Collector’s Edition box that will contain:

  • 5” Onbu Succulent Pot

  • Postcards

  • Wooden Pin Set

  • Rubber Keychain
