Risen 2 trailer shows us a fantasy RPG with pirates!

Remember Risen? that Fantasy RPG developed by the makers of the Gothic series?? maybe not but I do, since I actually bought and finished the game back in 2009. It wasn't the best RPG out there at the time, that's why I'm a bit shocked over the news with Risen 2: Dark Waters. They just released a gameplay teaser trailer and it shows a fantasy RPG with a pirate theme? well that's new.

Interesting setting, at the same time the graphics is a huge improvement from the first game. The trailer is made entirely of in-game footage. If you know the Gothic series and actually played the first game, you'll have an idea on how this game will play out. This trailer is in preparation for Risen 2's appearance in Gamescom, so we'll get more info about this RPG when Gamescom concludes.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Spec Ops Survival Trailer

Lately, Call of Duty has been quiet with no new footage of the game. Now, they finally show the new Spec Ops for Modern Warfare 3 with this Survival Trailer.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxDQ2Ow-VfI]

Excited? Survival mode looks like a good addition to Spec Ops. Two players go against Waves after waves of enemies and using the money earned to buy equipment in between waves to keep going. Not sure if its going to be as fun as Black Ops' zombie co-op though.

At the end, we get a glimpse of Modern Warfare's multiplayer, teasing one of the new equipment(not sure what its called) and a new killstreak, the Juggernaut killstreak.

Wait, Seriously?? Juggernaut as a 14 killstreak?? I don't know Sledgehammer, hopefully hitting 14 kills in a row won't be as easy in Modern Warfare 2. Another thing to keep note, the first ever Call of Duty expo will show a world premiere trailer of Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer mode. Call of Duty XP will be on Sept 2 to Sept 3 in L.A. Why does Call of Duty have an expo?? ask Activision.

Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 3 will be out on Nov 8, 2011 for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.

Mortal Kombat Freddy Krueger Story Trailer

Here we are shown how Freddy Krueger is brought into the Mortal Kombat world by Shao Khan. It's nice seeing a decent story for a guest character in any game, especially one that can actually blend with the insanity that is Mortal Kombat.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City half hour gameplay video

Yesterday the internet graced us with 40 minutes of Skyrim gameplay, now we have Capcom releasing new footage for us to enjoy, a half hour-long gameplay video of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWyNU7jgobA&feature=player_embedded]

I know what your thinking, shooting and running at the same time in a Resident Evil game? yea doesn't make any sense. It's also a 4 player co-op game, so it's clearly a Resident Evil game we have not seen.

Regardless of the unusual gameplay for Raccoon City, It's concept on the other hand is pretty interesting. Players will play as a squad sent by umbrella to clean up the mess thats happening in Raccoon City, Its pretty much Resident Evil 2 all over again but in another perspective.

Not only do you clean up the mess by killing zombies, lurkers and other iconic baddies in Resident Evil, your also faced against military soldiers sent by the government, tasked to figure out whats going on, at the same time Leon S. Kennedy is also an enemy in this game as he and Claire try to survive just like in Resident Evil 2. It's a free for all fight as you can see in the video, and with that concept, I really don't see the stop shoot gameplay working here.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is set for a release at the end of this year for Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, no actual date given.

Xbox Live Arcade Minecraft starts with a Beta

Minecraft is coming to XBLA and Minecraft creators Markus "Notch" Persson and Daniel Kaplan want to take it a bit slow.

From [Gameinformer]

In an excellent interview with Develop, Mojang's Markus "Notch" Persson and Daniel Kaplan shed new light on Minecraft's forthcoming launch on Xbox Live Arcade. Persson says "the way we’re going to do it is similar to how we did Minecraft on the PC. So we’ll do a beta version first or something like that and then try to get feedback – find out which parts are actually fun to do, what do you like doing when playing on the console as opposed to the PC. I think there will be a big overlap in terms of both console and PC players, and they can help us figure it out."

Kaplan added that mods will not be included in the Xbox 360 version, and updates will not be as fast due to the extensive testing that must be done to not "break the Xbox system." For more info on the Xbox 360, PC, and Android versions, check out Develop's interview.
