Weekend, what are you playing?

It's Memorial Day weekend for some of you out there in North America so that means a long weekend and that also means more uninterrupted game hours. As for everyone else, I'm sure you'll squeeze as much game time as possible in these two very short days. So, what are you playing?

Migoy: My weekend gaming kicked off with some Shaolin Kung Fu action in Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks. I chose Kung Lao first cause he has a badass hat and Liu Kang's voice annoys me to no end. I will be streaming it live over at http://www.justin.tv/acicon so hop in to chat there and watch me kill some fools.

Arlie: I finally got the Platinum trophy for L.A. Noire few days ago, man it was hard to find all those vehicles because they all look alike. Just got my copy of Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds yesterday and wow, I really liked this game the first time I played it. I should've bought this game when it was launched. It didn't matter if I suck at it and lose at ALL of my online fights, as long as I enjoy playing it. Online trophy boost, anyone? LOL. I'm also playing Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition for the PS3. I only played this game on the PC before but never got to finish it. I'm playing it on hardest difficulty to get the plat in one playthrough, this is also a preparation for the next game, Batman: Arkham City which is due on October. I'm still looking for a decent capture card, one with composite AV so I could broadcast while playing in HD. I don't want to play on a 46" HDTV with RCA cables.

Quash: Just arrived from a vacation in Boracay and decided to do some trophy hunting. Going to platinum LA Noire on my PS3 and also finally plat Red Dead Redemption(multiplayer trophies are left). It's all about those virtual achievements for me this weekend, Will also try to get Killzone 3's plat since I'm 80% done.

Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks

I looked up fatality compilations of various characters from Mortal Kombat. As I came across a video showing off all of Liu Kang's fatalities from the first MK game up until the latest, I saw quite a few that I have never seen before. They were gruesome, nicely animated and over the top compared to most Mortal Kombat titles. Wondering where I saw those from, I remembered that there was a Mortal Kombat 2 player co-op brawler that came out for the PS2. That game was Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks.

I just picked up the game yesterday, popped it in, picked Kung Lao, and proceded to kill some Barakas. I gotta say it's a pretty awesome game. I don't remember any of my friends talking about this PS2 title back when I was in Highschool and with MK games during that time being kind of "meh", I thought this was a throw away title. I was still very interested in playing this before but I missed out on a lot of PS2 games during it's reign.

I'll definitely be playing more of this and you can probably catch it live on http://www.justin.tv/acicon this weekend.

One of the reasons why you need to play Portal 2

Portal 2, one of Valve's masterpieces in gaming. The intuitive first person shooter puzzle game. These some of the few reasons why you should play it.

If not for its story, incredible single player campaign, mind bending puzzles, the ability to divide by zero, the witty banter of GLaDOS and Wheatley then here is another reason why you should pick up and play the game right now.

For moments like these.
