TMG Podcast 165 - The Narratives In Video Games

Matthew from New Game Plus join us this week to talk about stories in games. A recent article from The Atlantic titled 'Video Games Are Better Without Stories' got a lot of people talking about the current state on how the video game industry has tackled narrative differently. We weigh-in our thoughts on the matter in all angles because the author did bring up interesting points that shouldn't be overlooked.

We also discuss a new law that will be implemented in China regarding loot boxes, or rather, virtual packages that have randomly generated contents. You can read the information here by Slickster Magazine and talk about how being completely transparent to your consumers can either be hurtful or beneficial for both parties.
