Thymesia Looks Like A Promising Action RPG, And It's Coming To PC This Year
/ Carlos Hernandez
Taiwan-based indie developer OverBorder is currently working on Thymesia, an action RPG that if you’re into games like Dark Souls, Mortal Shell, or even Bloodborne, you should keep an eye on this one as it’s coming to PC this year.
Have a look at the game in action below.
Thymesia is currently in development by a 7-man team over at OverBorder, and just recently found a publishing partner - Team17. Based on the studios Youtube channel, the folk at OverBorder have been working on this title for around 2 years.
The combat feels more fast-based than games like Demon’s Souls or even Dark Souls and i’m getting a Bloodborne vibe with the overall design. You play as Corvus, a character with the ability to, in Team17’s words, “rend the diseased powers of your enemies from them and fashion them into powerful weapons”.
Gameplay aside, Thymesia has a dark and eerie place plagued by various diseases and OverBorder and Team17 have yet to share more of the world they are building. What we know so far is that the game will feature multiple endings to encourage multiple playthroughs, and that Corvus is on a quest to regain his memories.
At the very least it’s worth keeping tabs on as we see more of Thymesia. A release date was not given by Team17 but they are aiming for a 2021 release on the PC platform with no word of a console release.
Mortal Souls was also developed by an indie studio and it was a pleasant surprise and widely embraced by fans of the genre. Will we see similar success in Thymesia? Let us know what you think!

Legends of Amberland II: The Song of Trees launches on Nintendo Switch, bringing classic 90s-inspired RPG gameplay to the handheld hybrid.
This type of game design just doesn’t appeal to everyone, so while I can’t give this collection a perfect score, it is a must-buy for fans of old-school shooters.
