Pokémon Pokopia Sells 5 Million Copies Four Months After Release

Pokémon Pokopia, the first Switch 2 exclusive for the franchise, just reached an impressive milestone of 5 million units sold (physical and digital) in just four months since launching. The cozy simulator game launched on March 5.

Pokopia isn’t like mainline Pokémon titles as it’s a cozy crafting and building simulator that is in line with games like Animal Crossing, only this time you play as a Ditto transformed into a human, cooperating with other Pokémon to build cities and do other activities with its ability to transform.

Pokémon Pokopia First DLC Out Now

Post-launch content is coming to the game with Bubbly Basin, the game’s first DLC, released on August 5. It’s launch also came with the game’s free major update that adds the ability to explore underwater and even build cities underwater.

Bubbly Basin is part of the game’s expansion pass, so owners who already own the pass instantly have access to the DLC and future content planned for the game. It’s second DLC, which will add accessories and more to the game, is planned for late 2026 release, while the third DLC is set for a 2027 and will feature a new town to explore.
