Resident Evil Village DLC Called the Winters’ Expansion Launches This October

Capcom announced that the Resident Evil Village DLC called ‘The Winters’ expansion’ will be launching on October 28. This paid expansion adds a third-person mode, additional Mercenaries content, and a Shadows of Rose story content that takes place after the events of Village.

For the game’s The Mercenaries mode, additional orders are added with this DLC, allowing you to play in new stages and as Chris Redfield, Heisenberg, and Lady Dimitrescu.

The DLC also adds third-pereson mode, which simply lets you play the Resident Evil Village in a third-person perspective as opposed to original first-person, giving a new spin to your next playthrough of the campaign.

Lastly, players that pick up this DLC will get to play Shadows of Rose, the continuation of the story as the content in this DLC is set 16 years after the events of Resident Evil Village as Rosemary Winters, Ethan’s now grown up daughter.

Capcom also announced the Resident Evil Village Gold Edition of the game, which simply bundles the ‘The Winters’ Expansion’ with the base game, will launch on October 28, 2022 in both physical and digital formats for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia. The same day the DLC becomes available.

Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer component of Resident Evil Village that has been delayed since last year, is finally going live the same day the new DLC expansion becomes available. All owners of Village get Re:Verse for free.
