Look Out For The Debut Of Far Cry 6 Gameplay This Weekend
/ Carlos Hernandez
It looks like Ubisoft is ready to show more of Far Cry 6 as we are getting our first look at gameplay on May 29, May 29 at 8 AM GMT +8 / May 29 at 12:30AM (UTC +8).
Since the game’s reveal back in 2020, Ubisoft has been quiet about the sixth numbered title in the Far Cry series. During the reveal, it was mentioned that Ubisoft was aiming to release Far Cry 6 on February 18, 2021, but that clearly didn’t happen as it was delayed back in October and is now expected to be released sometime between April 2021 to March 2022.
[UPDATE 5/31/21]: Have a look at Far Cry 6’s first gameplay trailer below.
Far Cry 6 continues the open-world FPS the series is known for. In recent entries, Far Cry is known to have unique antagonists that they are usually the face of the game, and Far Cry 6 is now different as players will go against the oppressive rule of President Antón Castillo who is being played by actor Giancarlo Esposito, who’s known for his role in Breaking Bad and most recently The Mandalorian.
The game is set in a fictional country called Yara and is a tropical island that Castillo has full control over. The setting this time around will be different than past games and will be the first in the series to be set in an urban environment, so it’ll be interesting how that will play out through gameplay.
If you’re eager to see the gameplay reveal live, you can watch it on Ubisoft’s official Youtube channel or through Twitch.
When Far Cry 6 launches, it will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox one, PC, and Google Stadia.
So far, I’ve been loving my new console. It truly feels like a generational leap from the original Switch, even if its core concept remains the same. This may be simply an iterative, straightforward improvement over the original system, but I guess the thinking is that as the saying goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
