Hades 2 Leaves Early Access With Full Launch in September 2025
/During the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, Supergiant Games announced that Hades 2 is coming to both Switch and Switch 2. Alongside the console release, the studio confirmed that the game will leave early access with a full 1.0 launch on September 25, 2025, on PC.
The sequel’s early access period has been relatively short. First released in May 2024, Hades 2 has received regular updates and refinements from the developers, leading up to its full release this September.
It was just a surprise to get the announcement during Nintendo’s lengthy Nintendo Direct presentation.
For those unfamiliar, Hades 2 is the follow-up to Supergiant’s highly praised roguelike dungeon crawler. This time, players step into the role of Melinoë, daughter of Hades and sister of Zagreus (the protagonist of the first game). Her quest is to defeat Chronos, the Titan of Time, with aid from the Olympian Gods, who grant her new powers each run. As with the first game, death sends players back to the beginning, stripping them of all their earned upgrades and rewards, while retaining some resources, providing the typical roguelike experience.
