Fan-made game lets you shoot your favorite Pokémon

[UPDATE: 1/25/2022]: No surprise here - Pokémon Company has swooped in and deleted all footage of the FPS Pokémon fan game. As you can see in the embedded tweet below, the video is no longer available, as well as any YouTube footage of the shooter in action.

This still occurred even if the game was not distributed to the public in any way for use. It wasn’t even sold. Another example to not mess with anything Pokémon related. Dragon_GameDev2 has tweeted that he will make a statement soon with what happened to his fun little project.

A developer that goes by the name Dragon_GameDev2 on Twitter shared his work on a Pokémon First Person shooter, which simply allows you to shoot various Pokémon.

Sadly, it’s not a game we can download as it was developed just for a YouTube video, so don’t expect developer notes or more gameplay footage of this game in the future. The developer is well aware that the moment he releases the game like it in any way, Nintendo will swoop in for the kill.

The YouTube video was released last month but a tweet from the developer this week brought his work on the spotlight as it has garnered over 15,000 retweets and close to 100,000 likes as of this writing.

But still, it is rather amusing to see Pokemon used in a completely different environment, especially how he made the game with various packs, converting some Pokémon to behave differently in the game, even putting boss encounters. Have a look at the game in action in Dragon_GameDev2’s YouTube video to see how he brought it all together. He even challenged some of his friends to beat one of the game’s bosses Mewtwo on their first try for $100.
