Destiny 2 Rite of the Nine Guide – Dungeon Rotation, Exotic Rewards, and All Weapons
/Bungie’s latest limited-time event, Rite of the Nine, kicked off on May 6, offering Destiny 2 players a chance to earn rare exotics, exclusive cosmetics, and reprised dungeon weapons. The twist? You’ll need to complete a featured dungeon each week—but the rotation didn’t quite start the way everyone expected.
Wait, Why Is Spire of the Watcher Back Again?
Many expected Ghosts of the Deep to be the second dungeon in the lineup, but when the weekly reset hit on May 14, Spire of the Watcher remained the featured dungeon. This left a lot of Guardians scratching their heads, especially since Bungie previously said the event would rotate through Spire of the Watcher, Ghosts of the Deep, and Prophecy on a weekly basis.
Turns out, Bungie didn't communicate the actual structure of the event clearly at first. In a recent clarification, they revealed that each dungeon will remain active for three weeks, and all three will become available during the final week before the launch of the Edge of Salvation expansion.
Rite of Nine Dungeon Rotation Schedule
Spire of the Watcher: May 6 to May 27
Ghosts of the Deep: May 27 to June 17
Prophecy: June 17 to July 8
All Three Dungeons Available: July 8 – July 15
Bungie is aware of the community’s feedback about the confusion, so we’ll update this guide if anything changes.
If you missed the first week, don’t worry—you still have time. And if you already farmed Spire of the Watcher hard, now’s your chance to clean up anything you missed, or jump into the new weekly quest that gives you an exotic as a reward.
All Rite of the Nine Weapons
The Rite of the Nine features 12 reprised weapons from the three featured dungeons. Each weapon has a new origin trait called Gravity Well, which pulls ammo toward you when reloading.
Ghosts of the Deep
New Pacific Epitaph
Greasy Luck
No Survivors
Cold Comfort
Prophecy
Judgement
A Sudden Death
Prosecutor
Relentless
Spire of the Watcher
Liminal Vigil
Long Arm
Terminus Horizon
Wilderflight
Each weapon comes in three versions: a standard drop, an Adept version, and an Adept version with a holofoil effect.
How to get the Rite of the Nine Weapons
You can earn weapons by completing the featured dungeon each week. Alternatively, you can open the chest near the Emissary of the Nine using 250 Nonary Manifold, the event-exclusive currency. You’ll earn Nonary Manifold by completing Rite of the Nine bounties.
You can also attune to one of the twelve weapons floating in the hub area. Doing so increases your chances of receiving that weapon from dungeon completions or event chests, similar to last year’s Into the Light event.
Cosmetic Rewards and the Eternal Title
Beyond weapons, Rite of the Nine includes unique cosmetics:
Earn a special emblem by achieving Gold ratings in all dungeon encounters.
Complete the event’s Seal to earn the ETERNAL title and unlock the Astrograph Shader.
Week 2 Guaranteed Exotic Reward – Ritual Initiation Quest
In Week 2, Bungie added a new quest called Ritual Initiation, offering a guaranteed Exotic reward. Complete the featured dungeon on any difficulty, return to the Emissary, and you’ll get to choose one of the following:
Hierarchy of Needs – Exotic Bow
The Navigator – Exotic Trace Rifle
Gjallarhorn Catalyst
Important note: We don’t know what happens if you already own the Gjallarhorn Catalyst and pick it again—and honestly, we’re not brave enough to try.
We’ll update this page if there are new quests that show up next week.
