The New Support Hero For Overwatch Is Already Available For All

That was quick. The testing for the upcoming hero was short-lived as we see Moira now available in main servers for Overwatch players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Moira, who was announced at Blizzcon 2017, is a support healer and is the fifth character to be included on the roster for free since Overwatch was released. From what folks are telling me about her, she could be a viable character to use in team compositions thanks to her ultimate ability, which is a huge beam that heals allies hit by it while damages enemies caught by the blast. A tide turner during clash fights.

She also has good mobility thanks to her ability to teleport in short distances. Zenyatta and Ana, who are also support healers, have limited mobility, making Moira a bit more appealing in that sense.

Support Adjusted

Together with the release of Moira, a few buffs and nerfs went live because recently Mercy has been the go-to healer. You can read the full patch notes here, but I still see Mercy as a strong pick for the support role. At least now, especially with Moira now in the mix, we will see more versatility and viability when it comes to the support role.

A new change that went live is also in the game's Arcade mode. One of the arcade game slots will now change on a daily basis. Limited Duel, Low Gravity, and Capture the Flag are the game modes that will be in this new daily rotation.

In terms of Moira being available for competitive play, she will be unlocked for competitive mode a week after official release.

Overwatch will be free to try out this weekend from November 17 - 20, perfectly timed with a new hero and a few changes added in.
