Murdered: Soul Suspect Trailer

Murdered-Soul-Suspect-titleI caught this trailer yesterday during a Square Enix live stream right before I went to bed and murder mysteries have always piqued my interest. Ghost detectives are not a new thing but I've rarely seen it done right. A teaser site for this game was put up back in February earlier this year.

The trailer didn't really show how the game would play but lucky for us Gamespot did coverage of it's gameplay. It looks to be a modern day point and click adventure game but the best comparison would be to L.A. Noire's investigation sequences. Instead of interrogation, you look into the memories of the people around you and try to piece together what exactly happened. There are said to be stealth sequences too where you have to avoid or get passed my demons who can end your ghostly life.

I like that you can actually walk through walls instead of having to open doors to get around. You are a ghost after all. Murdered: Soul suspect is set to release on PS3, PC and Xbox 360 sometime next year.

E3 2013: New Title in development on Wii U by Monolith Soft, Inc.

XenoU_01A new untitled game has been revealed by Nintendo that is being developed by Monolith Soft, Inc. Not to be confused with the F.E.A.R. developers Monolith.XenoU_03No combat was shown but there looked to be game combat scenarios which the player just didn't interact with. Aside from the giant sword wielding RPG stuff, there are giant robots. I love me so mecha. It looks like you'll be able to take control of multiple mechs such as a humanoid mech with a flight pack and one that transforms into a tank.

XenoU_06Taking their experience working on Xenoblade: Chronicles, you can tell that the game looks to take a lot of inspiration from it. Could this possibly be a sequel to Xenoblade? XenoU_08

Right now the game has no title but the 'X' teased at the end (though not entirely the same) looks to be written in the same vain as the X on the Xenoblade title which just further proves the theory that the game takes place in the same world possibly set in the future. The full title for this new game will be revealed in 2014.

E3 2013: Destiny game demo and gameplay trailer

Destiny_Gameplay_THUMB Bungie's next title after the Halo series is Destiny and they have finally revealed gameplay footage for us to take in. I've always been curious to how this online FPS game would play out. These two videos pretty covers that.

E3 Sony game demo

Aside from this game looking gorgeous, Destiny really gives the Halo meets Borderlands feel. I would love it if Bungie would go more into detail in terms of character customization and progression. I wonder though if were going to constantly pick up items during each fight(something similar to Diablo or Borderlands) or only during specific enemies in the game.

Destiny gameplay trailer

If you're sold into getting this game, you're in luck. You don't necessarily have to make a decision on what next-gen console to get in order to play this game, Destiny will also be available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Bungie and Activision is already thinking about Destiny in years to come, with sequels and added content, so this game will definitely be around for a long time.

Destiny is planned for a 2014 release.

E3 2013: Final Fantasy XV Battle gameplay first look

Final_Fantasy_XV_-_Cast Final Fantasy Versus 13 converted to Final Fantasy XV seemed likely when Square announced last Feb that they have something to show at E3. The game, just like any Final Fantasy game that came before it, always look amazing, but what about the gameplay? Here's another trailer released that gives us a good look at what looks like an action-oriented Final Fantasy.

It's obvious in this video that it won't be the Final Fantasy most people are familiar with, but this series has always been about redefining itself with each title. XV won't be any different and at this point I'll keep my mind open to what they plan for this new entry, because It would feel great to finally play a great Final Fantasy game again.

Thanks to Destructoid, they have more facts about this title:

  • Final Fantasy Versus XIII is now Final Fantasy XV
  • Final Fantasy XV will come to both the PS4 and Xbox One
  • Crown Prince Noctis is the protagonist
  • Noctis and his friends were cast out of their home, the Kingdom of Lucis
  • Final Fantasy XV features real-time combat
  • Date is TBD

E3 2013: New Super Luigi U Trailer

new_luigi_u_01Luigi gets another stand alone game for himself, sorta. New Super Luigi U is basically New Super Mario Bros. U without Mario. Luigi embarks on his own adventure without his brother Mario to save.. I don't know. Daisy, hopefully. Before you write this off as "another easy cop out by Nintendo", the trailer is less than 2 minutes long so give it a gander.

new_luigi_u_02This game still has support of up to 4 players, but who takes that extra spot if Mario's not in it? A character called Nabbit fills in the spot. I got a genuine laugh when I saw the Nabbit gameplay. He runs past enemies and steals powers up which he trades for 1-Ups if he reaches the end of the stage. What's worse than picking up other players or jumping on them in New Super Mario Bros. U? Being the resident asshole and stealing their power ups to trade for extra lives for you. And that is just hilarious.

new_luigi_u_03What interest me is that the game will be available digitally on the Nintendo eShop next week (June 20th) for $19.99 and available as a disc copy on August 25th for $29.99 with it's own unique green case. Now the green case is cool and all but will this trend of digital releases being cheaper carry on to other titles? I sure hope so.
