Two recent rumors I'm hoping comes out false

Prey 2 I don't really post much about rumors but these two are pretty big. First up, there is a rumor that Sony is considering to close down Zipper Entertainment(MAG, SOCOM 4). The other, which would be such a waste, is the rumored cancellation of Prey 2.

Zipper Interactive

Let's start with Zipper Entertainment's rumored shutdown thanks to Sony - Reports say that Sony is in the process of laying off staff members and employee's at Zipper. With the number of people being let go, Sony might consider closing down the studio all together. Now Naturally, Sony hasn't given a comment on the rumor.

I loved MAG, Zipper took a bold risk in creating an FPS game that brings 128 players in one area, and it actually turned out to be fun. I saw myself playing the game for a few months with no lag issues. Don't forget that Zipper Entertainment is the team that brought you the SOCOM series which brought a lot of fun memories back in the day. If this does come out true, the studio's last project will be the PS Vita's Unit 13.

 Prey 2 E3 demo

The next is Prey 2's possible cancellation. Now this game wowed me with its E3 trailer and E3 gameplay demo. This was on my must-have list in 2012 and to hear that Bethesda is considering on scrapping the game is such a shame. You play as an alien bounty hunter, and just like past Bethesda games, this one will be a non-linear open world game. It's a big change from the first Prey, but going non-linear is never a bad thing really.  The rumor is that Bethesda Softworks will announce the game's cancellation next week.

The game has been very quiet since it's presence in last year's E3, but hopefully the silence isn't because of the possible cancellation. To make matters worse, Human Head Studios cancelled three conferences recently.

With both rumors, no one is talking yet. We'll update if new word comes out.

E3 2011: Prey 2 gameplay demo

If you're wondering what Prey 2 is all about, we got a gameplay demo you guys should check out. It's an Open world FPS and that alone makes it completely different from its predecessor. You play as Killian Samuels, once a U.S marshall on earth is now an alien bounty hunter on the planet Exodus. Human Head Studios is developing this game with the help of Bethesda Softworks.

I can't really say anything to compare this to the first game since i never played it but this makes me want to grab a copy to prepare myself when Prey 2 comes out. It has a movement mechanic somewhat similar to Brink and has some cool gadgets that you can use to capture your bounty. There will be tons of bounty to collect dead or alive, and there are different ways to tackle a certain bounty. Go guns blazing in the front, head to the back, or take someone hostage for collateral similar to whats shown in the video. it's all up to you.

Prey 2 is coming next year 2012 on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

E3 2011: Prey 2 E3 official trailer

We got another Pre- E3 trailer for you guys and this one is pretty epic. Prey 2 will be in E3 and starts off with a cinematic traler that is so much better than that live action trailer reveal of Prey 2 a few months back . I didin't play the first Prey but because of this trailer now i wish i did.

SciFi Shooters are always fun ,and with Bethesda working on this project i can't wait to see some gameplay footage.

[UPDATE:Prey 2 debut trailer]Prey 2 is in development..

Cover of French magazine Joystick hit the web and revealed something.....unexpected. A sequel to the portal-like FPS game Prey is in the works and bethesda made the official announcement.

Bethesda sure is one busy company and i didn't think a Prey sequel would come to light. The company recently acquired the Prey franchise from 2k games in 2009 and is aiming for a 2012 release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Development of Prey 2 is still being handled by the original team, Human Head Studios, and is using the id tech engine. id tech 4 might be the engine for Prey 2 sine They apparently have been in development for quite some time now so the use of the latest id tech 5 engine(the game engine powering rage) was never an option.

No other information about the game but at least Prey fans now have something to look forward to.

[UPDATE]: HumanHead Studio's just released a debut trailer of Prey 2. It's a live-action trailer and has no gameplay footage. Not too thrilled by the trailer but enjoy.
