[UPDATE:Prey 2 debut trailer]Prey 2 is in development..

Cover of French magazine Joystick hit the web and revealed something.....unexpected. A sequel to the portal-like FPS game Prey is in the works and bethesda made the official announcement.

Bethesda sure is one busy company and i didn't think a Prey sequel would come to light. The company recently acquired the Prey franchise from 2k games in 2009 and is aiming for a 2012 release on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Development of Prey 2 is still being handled by the original team, Human Head Studios, and is using the id tech engine. id tech 4 might be the engine for Prey 2 sine They apparently have been in development for quite some time now so the use of the latest id tech 5 engine(the game engine powering rage) was never an option.

No other information about the game but at least Prey fans now have something to look forward to.

[UPDATE]: HumanHead Studio's just released a debut trailer of Prey 2. It's a live-action trailer and has no gameplay footage. Not too thrilled by the trailer but enjoy.

There's actually going to be a Risen 2?!

It's not a bad thing that there's going to be a second, it's actually a good thing. Risen is an Open world RPG that was released in 2009 for the PC and Xbox 360 and received decent reviews from metacritics.I played it myself  and needed an RPG fix at the time. Dragon Age: Origins was still a month away and i was needed a filler to keep me busy while waiting. I wasn't expecting anything from this game but it surprised me just like how Two Worlds 2 did. It's a pretty decent RPG with minor flaws that didn't break the experience.

Risen 2 is being developed by Piranha Bytes and confirmed that it will be out on Xbox 360, PC and Playstation 3. Risen 2: Dark Waters is set several years after the end of Risen. Titans have devastated the world and pushed humanity to the brink of existence. Creatures have emerged from the sea and stopped poor boats from doing their business. You, the hero, must set out to stop the chaos.

Player choices will have an impact on progression and will unlock certain paths and will also affect certain features and additional skills your character can learn. There will also be an interactive environment and a full day/night-cycle affecting countless aspects of the game world.

Quite promising. They have no definite date but Risen 2: Dark Waters is aiming for a 2011 release on Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
