Valorant will be heading to Act 2 on August 4, 2020 and the biggest addition is a new agent called Killjoy, who is equipped with a series of gadgets that can help her team hold a position, protect flanks when advancing, and has an ulitmate that affects enemies caught in the raidus.

Have a look at her gadgets in action below.

Here’s how each of her skills work.

Alarmbot – EQUIP a covert Alarmbot. FIRE to deploy a bot that hunts down enemies that get in range. After reaching its target, the bot explodes, applying Vulnerable. HOLD EQUIP to recall a deployed bot.

• Turret – EQUIP a Turret. FIRE to deploy a turret that fires at enemies in a 180 degree cone. HOLD EQUIP to recall the deployed turret.

• Nanoswarm – EQUIP a Nanoswarm grenade. FIRE to throw the grenade. Upon landing, the Nanoswarm goes covert. ACTIVATE the Nanoswarm to deploy a damaging swarm of nanobots.

Lockdown (ultimate) – EQUIP the Lockdown device. FIRE to deploy the device. After a long windup, the device Detains all enemies caught in the radius. The device can be destroyed by enemies.

Ranked system will have Ranks in Act 2

Act II isn’t all about Killjoy though, as Riot Games will be implementing an improved Ranked system once the new season goes live.

Act Ranks will be added and is based on “proven skill”, which is based on the nine best ranked wins a player had during the previous act. They also take note on your highest ranked win, and other ranked wins that was recorded in the previous Act.

When Act 2 rolls out, and since it’s a new season, all players will go back into placements but this time they will only require to play 3 placement matches instead of playing 5. These placements matches will have a matchmaking based on your position back in Act 1 and once your done with these matches you’ll be ranked slightly lower than where you were when Act 1 ended.

You can read the full details of the changes to the Ranking system here.

Valorant’s Act 2 will go live on August 4, so if you haven’t completed the Battle Pass for Act 1 (if you bought it) then you have just a few days to complete it.
