S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl delayed to December 2022

Developer GSC Game World announced a big delay for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl as it is now set to launch on December 8. It was previously planned to release on April 28. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. It will also be on Xbox Game Pass on day 1.

"These additional seven months of development are needed to fulfill our vision and achieve the desired state of the game," GSC says in a statement. "STALKER 2 is the biggest project in the history of GSC, and it requires thorough testing and polishing. We are convinced that development should take as long as necessary, especially in the case of such a project." says GSC Game World in a tweet they sent out to their followers.

That’s a big push from Summer to now becoming a Holiday title. The developers promise to provide more information about the game throughout the year.

Naturally, many that were eager to play Stalker have expressed their disappointment through social media but there are a good number that are also wishing the team well and to take all the time they need to get the project in a polished state. You can never go wrong with asking more time to get things right.

Stalker 2 was talked about heavily last month due to their announcement of implementing NFTs in their game. But due to the heavy backlash from players the developers quickly canceled all plans to implement NFTs to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl.
