Project Xandata enters Early Access in January 2022

Secret 6, a studio based in the Philippines, announced that their free-to-play multiplayer FPS game Project Xandata is heading to Steam’s Early Access on January 26, 2022.

This announcement comes days after the game’s open beta concluded on November 28. Project Xandata will go live with three classes, four game modes, nine weapons, and four maps.

If you played the open beta and had a blast with the game, you’d be pleased to know that the Early Access version will come with all that you’ve played during the beta plus a few more features added in.

Here’s what to expect from the Early Access version of the game.

  • Arcade Mode: Free-For-All

  • Item Store

  • Early Access Prestige Pass

  • Solo leaderboards

  • Item Reward Track

  • Localization

  • Customization onboarding

  • FOV slider

  • Additional game analytics

  • Easy anti-cheat

  • AMD fidelityX

  • A cinematic intro

  • Improved overcharge effect

  • Weapon preview visual effect

A fifth new map called Wellspring Biotech is planned for the game’s Early Access but has yet to be confirmed if it will be available at launch.  Secret 6 also mentioned that Project Xandata will have a fifth game mode called Annihilation but it will be unavailable during the Early Access launch but could be available in the future.

The Early Access version of the game will have a Prestige Pass available that will come with 50 tiers and will last for 12 weeks. Just like similar Battle Passes in other games, unlocking all 50 levels will result in you earning enough of the game’s in-game currency to purchase the next Battle Pass planned for Project Xandata

The game will also come with a cosmetic-only online store that will feature additional armor sets, color schemes, emotes, and other features to fully customize your character.

For those unfamiliar, Project Xandata is a 3 versus 3 competitive FPS that feels inspired by other shooters like Destiny or Quake. Players can pick between three classes that have a set of customizable skills that would cater to a specific playstyles. The gameplay leans more on Destiny’s pvp based on what I’ve played so far as team coordination is essential, and using your class’s skills at the right moment can quickly shift the match’s momentum to your favor.

Xandata also comes with a perk system for their weapons, giving players more options to customize their loadout to their liking.

Project Xandata is Secret 6’s first game and has been working on the project since 2016. Despite this being their first big project for the studio, Secret 6 has been around for years as it has supported multiple triple A titles by providing 3D and 2D asset creation for games like Battlefield 2042, Uncharted 4, The Last of Us series, Just Cause 3, Cyberpunk 2077 and more.
