Netflix and Capcom Announced an Onimusha Anime

Netflix and Capcom have announced that an Onimusha anime is currently in the works. No release date was given but this show will be set in the beginning of the Edo period with an older Musashi.

Takashi Miike (13 Assassins, Audition) will serve as the Chief Director for the Netflix anime while Shinya Sugai as Director, and the studio working on the show’s animation will be Sublimation, the same studio that worked on the Dragon’s Dogma anime series that launched on Netflix in 2020
There’s not much details released about the show beyond who is involved in the project and the handful of screenshots of the show seen above.

I would consider this as Capcom’s way of testing the waters yet again with their inactive franchises as the last Onimusha game released by the company was Onimusha: Warlords HD back in 2019. If the show comes out as popular, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they would consider developing a new mainline entry for the series.
