NCSoft Reveals Project LLL, Described as an Open-world MMO Third-person Shooter

NCSoft released the first gameplay trailer of their upcoming open-world massively multiplayer online shooter currently titled Project LLL. It’s set to release on PC and consoles in 2024.

The first gameplay trailer showcases actual gameplay of Project LLL, which looks and sounds like an ambitious project coming from the folks at NCSoft, best known for games like series, Aion, and is also the publisher for ArenaNet’s Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2.

Have a look at Project LLL in action below.

In a text interview. Project lead seeder Jaehyun Bae said that the team responsible for Project LLL wants “to create a new genre that is completely different from the recently popular looter shooter or battle royale”.

“We want to create a new market that is exclusive to NC with a new IP that incorporates the keywords ‘Shooter’, ‘MMO’, and ‘Open World.’ We are developing a project that combines different play styles and elements from NC’s previous games, and we are very excited to share a sneak peek with our community.”

“As we move forward with development, we realize that bringing the sci-fi genre into the game world is an extremely high-tech process on multiple fronts. We could just continue to do what we have been doing, but I believe challenging ourselves with something new and continuously upgrading our foundation is the way to build trust with the market.”

It is said that the game will feature an open world with more than 30 km of land and certain locations for the game are based on actual areas in Seoul, Korea.

There’s a lot going on in the trailer above. Impressive visuals with not only third-person shooter combat but seamless transition to first-person mech gameplay. Then, we have whatever that was at the end of the video which seemed to have ended all life in the area.

This is the first showing of Project LLL to the public, a game that is being developed using Unreal Engine (Unreal Engine 5 not mentioned).
