Diablo 3 Speedrunners Beat Two World Records During 2021 Awesome Games Done Quick

Three Diablo 3 speedrunners, Meatr0o, Heckson, and Whisperra, just beat the world record of beating the game in the three-player category as well as the world record for the four-player category during their speedrun of the game during Awesome Games Done Quick 2021.

That’s two world records in one run, and if you were there watching the speedrun on Twitch, they only fully realized what they have done after they’ve beated Malthael and talked to Tyriel to call time. It’s confirmed and recorded at speedrun.com.

It was an insane playthrough as it took them only 1:19:15 to beat the base game’s content plus Diablo 3’s only expansion Reaper of Souls. it was extra special as the 4-player category was harder to beat considering you have a fourth player to coordinate with, not to mention bosses will go down faster with the added help.

It was entertaining to see all three players coordinating so well, applying tactics like having one player completing the quest objectives while the other player is ready to talk to the NPC to complete the quest, then teleport to the other player that have already found the path to the next area to progress. They coordinate in breaking pots as well as that results in a bonus in movement speed if you break a series of pots consistently within a short window.

Watch the run below.

The trio was also blessed with good loot drops as well, which made their triple Monk composition melt bosses with ease. And let’s not forget that they were doing all of this crazy coordination at record speeds while explaining to those watching what they are doing and why they do it. It’s an impressive feat all around.

Congratulations to meatr0o, Heckson, and Whisperra for that amazing run, and to think this is just one of the many entertaining speedruns being done at Awesome Games Done Quick 2021, which is still live right now and will run until January 10, 2021, 3:30 PM GMT +8.
