Another Shrine of Secrets reset, and the last one for 2022. This section found in the in-game store of Dead by Daylight gives players the chance to unlock perks from Survivors or Killers still unavailable for them, or have not yet earned the highest tier. This week offers the perks Aftercare, Beast of Prey, Dead Hard, and Nemesis. Here’s a quick rundown of each of the perks offered from December 28 - January 3, 2023

Dead by Daylight Shrine of Secrets perks for December 28, 2022 - January 3, 2023

To unlock a perk through the Shine of Secrets, you’ll need to spend Iridescent Shards per perk. Tier 1 perks can cost 2,000 shards.

Here’s the description of each perk.

Killer Perks

Beast of Prey (The Huntress) - Upon gaining Bloodlust, Beast of Prey gives the Killer Undetectable for as long as Bloodlust is active.

Beast of Prey grants 30/40/50% bonus bloodpoints in the Hunter category.

Nemesis (The Oni) - Any Survivor who blinds you or stuns you using a Pallet becomes your Obsession. Anytime your Obsession switches to another Survivor, the Survivor will be affected by the Oblivious status for 40/50/60 seconds and their aura will be revealed for to you for 4 seconds.

Perks

Dead Hard (David King) - Press t he ability button while injured and while running to trigger an Endurance effect for 0.5 seconds. Using Dead Hard will cause the Exhausted effect which will last for 60/50/40 seconds.

Noises when Unlocking a Chests or cleansing/blessing Totems will be suppressed and interaction speed is increased by 40/35/30%.

Aftercare (Jeff Johansen) - See the aura of the last 1/2/3 Survivors:
- That you rescued from a hook, or who have rescued you from a hook
- Healed you or you’ve healed.

The effects of Aftercare are reset once you are hooked by the Killer.

Which perks are worth getting this week?

This is an interesting Shrine of Secrets perk list to end 2022 as Dead Hard is highly considered one of the best Survivor perks in the game despite it being drastically changed this year. If you don’t have Dead Hard at the highest tier, or not have it at all, you’re missing out as if done right, it can make or break a chase.

The other perk, Aftercare, provides a lot of information if you want to be the guy to protect someone on their last hook or is being tunneled by the killer. I hardly see this perk used but don’t dismiss how much info you’ll get if you run this.

As for Killer, Beast of Prey is hard to pull off as you need to have bloodlust active, and when bloodlust active, that means you need to be in chase longer than you’d like. Very difficult in the current meta or against highly skilled Survivors that complete gens in record speeds.

Finally, Nemesis can find value when you don’t respect pallet drops as the chase you’re in will be slightly easy with the added info and Oblivious affecting the Survivor you are chasing. Not the best alone but can synergies well with other perks that work around being stunned by Pallets.

Dead by Daylight’s Shrine of Secrets reset every Wednesday at 12 AM UTC / 8 AM GMT +8.

This year’s Holiday event Bone Chill is now live as we have snowmen all over the place for Survivors and Killers to hide or give each other a high five. The event also delivers a new Event Tome which features new cosmetics for Survivors David King, Haddie Kaur, and Vittorio Toscano. There are also Killer cosmetics for The Huntress, The Dredge, The Knight, and The Deathslinger.

There is still less than 7 days left to go for the Holiday event, so be sure to go through the event tomb to earn all the cosmetics and bloodpoints on offer.
