Code Vein II DLC "Mask of Idris" Announced
Bandai Namco Entertainment revealed that their soulslike action RPG Code Vein II is getting its first paid DLC, titled "Mask of Idris," which adds two new Partners to the game.
Code Vein II paid Story DLC
The paid DLC will feature Liv Voda, Valentin Voda's half-sister and the original guardian of "The Temporal Rift." This DLC features an additional story where "multiple timelines and worlds collide." It also has requirements, as it's set before the base game's ending:
Reach the ending "Luna Fraterna".
Advance "Valentin's Request".
Valentin's questline is optional, but with his half-sister involved in the DLC, it's understandable that the devs would want a requirement like this, as players would need a bit more context before diving into the DLC.
Free Update Version 2.0
A free 2.0 update for the game will release simultaneously with the Mask of Idris DLC. Bandai didn't go into detail on what this update will feature, only mentioning that "We will implement several updates, including additional content that allows you to explore the post-main game world with your partners." There's also no release window yet for the paid DLC, so we'll update this post when that becomes available. There was also no price mentioned in the announcement.
We played Code Vein II at the start of 2026 and wasn’t the best iteration of the souls formula, and the lack of polish and a convoluted storyline didn’t help either.
