REV Major is back! It’s happening this weekend, on September 15 and 16, 2018 at the PowerMac Center in Makati City.

Organized by PlayBook Esports together with Gariath Concepts (ESGS), the 2018 REV Major is one of the biggest fighting game events in the Philippines, filled with international competitors from the Southeast Asian region.

Tekken 7 will serve as the main event game for this year’s REV Major. In turn, REV Major serves as a Challenger Event again for the Tekken World Tour. With a good amount of Tekken World Tour points on the line, big players from Asia are flying over to compete this weekend. Stars like 2-time EVO champion Jae “Knee” Min Bae (currently top in the TWT standings), Byeong Mun “Quadans” Son, Sang-hyun “Jeondding” Jeon, YuYu, and more.

Other games featured at this year’s REV Majors are the usual stalwarts: Street Fighter V, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, Dragon Ball FighterZ. Super Smash Bros. Melee will also be there as part of the Smash Masters League.

Tekken 7 isn’t the only one with top international competitors. Ryan “Fchamp” Ramirez is in town and is joining REV Majors to face some stiff competition in Street Fighter V. Also joining is Japan’s Teresa, famous for maining Jam Kuradoberi in Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, and reaching top 8 at EVO 2017.

I can still remember the last REV Major, which was also held at the PowerMac Center. It was packed, and the hype just kept building up as we got closer to the grand finals. The Philippines is known for their electrifying crowds, and if you want to experience the best the fighting game community has to offer in this region, you don’t want to miss out.

You can watch the event unfold on Twitch. Gariath Concepts’ Twitch page covers the main event while Playbook’s Twitch account will feature the side tournaments.

Those who want to watch the event LIVE can purchase Spectator Passes at the venue during both days of the event. The -Day pass will cost you P200, while the 2-day Pass will cost you P350.
